The polyester layflat tube, commonly referred to as cigarette tube, is manufactured by overlapping the film edges onto themselves, while maintaining the dielectric strength of the original films.

The main advantages of polyester tubes are their reduced wall thickness, compact dimensions, and high flexibility in supply formats. They can be supplied either cut to length or wound on rolls or spools containing several hundred meters without joints. This feature is particularly important for use on automatic machines, where product continuity helps optimize production processes and reduce machine downtime.

The tube can be fully customized with different sizes and colors according to customer specifications.

The adhesives used – carefully selected through more than forty years of experience – are fully compliant with REACH and RoHS regulations, ensuring the preservation of the original properties of the insulating films.

Main applications

These tubes are widely used in various industrial applications, particularly for:

  • Protection of electrical and mechanical components
  • Joining of small wires inside electric motors, transformers, and compressors
  • Reducing rotor noise in universal motors
  • Insulating busbars (electrical conductors)
  • Protecting refrigerator coils from condensation
  • Heat exchangers
  • Static capacitors
