Politubes produces various types of insulating caps designed according to the requirements of hermetic closure, positioning, size and protection from chemical agents as required by our customers.

Caps are produced by sealing one of the two ends of multilayer spiral tubes. They are designed and produced according to customer specifications both in heat-shrinkable or not heat-shrinkable version.

They can be supplied in perfectly round or oval form to facilitate insertion and to reduce the overall dimensions.

Their dielectric strength can reach 303kV/mm with reference to the ASTM-D-149-91 test method and are used within a temperature range of -50°C/+300°C.

Our adhesives, carefully selected during our forty years of experience, comply with all REACH and RoHS regulations and guarantee that the original properties of the films used are fully maintained.

They are used for thermal protectors insulation inside electric motors and compressors, for wiring or for protecting cables welding of the same phase inside the windings, in order to avoid wires ends to damage the surrounding parts .

Ultrasonic welded spiral winding end caps provide a hermetic seal on one side that guarantees perfect and fast positioning, also thanks to the heat shrink technique, providing eccelent dielectric and thermic properties and perfect protection from chemicals.

It is chosen also for its higher mechanical strenght and perforation protection.

These precision products are electrical insulating caps – end caps for insulating electrical components such as crimping terminals and connections to magnet wires within electric motors, motor lead termination, compressors, connections in motors and transfomers or thermal switches used within motor windings and cable harness.

The ultrasonic seal is based on multilayered spiral winding tubes.

We supply the following ultrasonic welded end caps:

  2. Mylar HS – Polyester HS caps and end caps
  3. Nomex/Mylar A – Nomex/Polyester A caps and end caps

All raw materials used, including Polyester A (Mylar® A) are supplied by the industry’s world leaders, are all UL certified and provide excellent electric, thermal, chemical and environmental insulation.

Accurately combined, they can be used in a wide range of temperatures between -50°C e +300°C.

We also offer ultrasonic seals using Polyimide films.

Adhesives in all products meet REACH and RoHS standards and guarantee that the original properties of the films used are fully maintained.

End caps are supplied with internal diameter ranging between 2 and 70 mm and thickness between 100 and 500 micron. The standard seal length is between 3 and 5 mm. End caps are also supplied in custom colours, including helicoidal stripes for easy identification

Semi-caps have a closed radius that ensures the easy and damage-free insertion of gaskets in mechanical parts with sharp edges.

They are predominately used to protect gaskets, cylinder heads, shims, valve, valve guides and bearings.

They are also used for the easy insertion and protection of O-rings in combustion engines to avoid damage; the closed radius also prevents caps from slipping on the valve.

This product is also used when inserting Dunlop, Schrader and Presta valves in tyres to prevent the valve metal from damaging the tyre.

The raw material used is UL certified low heat shrink polyester AHS-2LSO.

Adhesives in all products meet REACH and RoHS standards and guarantee that the original properties of the films used are fully maintained.

Semi-caps are supplied with internal diameter ranging between 5 and 12 mm, thickness between 75 and 150 micron, and length over 7 mm.

The closed radius can be between 2 and 5 mm long. The semi-caps are also supplied in custom colours, including spiral stripes for easy identification.
